Heidi Espegren, MA Biblical Counseling, LPC

Heidi finished her first Masters degree in Kinesiology in her early twenties, and has taught all age groups from elementary school through university. When her third child headed off to college, after years of internal nudging and external encouragement, Heidi began a degree in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary, which she completed in 2018. Her foundation for counseling builds on the power of “story” using an integrative approach with clients. After working in relational ministry with youth (specifically Young Life) for 35 years, Heidi also is passionate about the restoration of marriage and family relationships. She has served with Marriage Core, is familiar with the ministry of Reengage, has taught parenting courses, and enjoys counseling engaged and newly married couples. Heidi believes each person’s unique story, no matter how difficult, has value and meaning. Heidi seeks to build self-compassion and self-awareness through the use of a variety of techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and family systems therapy. She places a high value on the transformative power of grace, love and faith.

In this season of life, hearing the word “Mimi” from a grandchild is a new source of joy. She has three children, son-in-law and two grandchildren.  When she isn’t working, you might find her travelling with her husband to California or Colorado- to visit family of course! She is an avid runner, tennis player, and lover of people!
