Kait is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an expected graduation in December 2025. With over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and a passion for mental health wellness, Kait’s career journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to helping others. Her background in HR leadership and management, including her role as Communications Director, has equipped her with valuable skills in communication, conflict resolution, and leadership. Now, as she transitions into the counseling field, Kait is excited to combine her love for people with her expertise to make a meaningful impact in mental health and wellness.

Kait strives to provide an accepting and validating environment where clients can process thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her approach emphasizes tools and techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (identifying and changing negative thought patterns), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (developing skills focused on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (activating radical acceptance and commitment to values-driven action).

Kait is passionate about the opportunity to help individuals build resilience by acknowledging and accepting their emotions and developing skills to respond effectively to life’s stressors. She is an advocate for behavioral activation and believes that taking meaningful action can help break the cycle of feeling stuck. Her goal is to support every client in achieving wellbeing and leading a fulfilling life.

Suicide prevention is another area that is close to her heart. She is committed to implementing the most effective strategies for identifying and intervening in crisis situations and strives to create an environment where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to choose life. She believes that fostering inner strength and empowering clients with healthy coping skills can significantly reduce the likelihood of a crisis.

Currently, Kait works primarily with adults, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, addiction, and life transitions. She also assists clients with developing healthy coping skills, improving interpersonal relationships, and realizing personal goals.

In addition, Kait is pursuing further education and certifications in Ecotherapy to expand her ability to integrate nature-based healing practices into therapy. During her personal time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the great state of Texas with her husband and their two dogs. She is also learning Italian – che bello!

Kait is available for in-person counseling sessions in the Woodlands, Texas. She is being supervised by Cheryl Butler, LPC-S.

*Please note that Kait will have availability at True North until May 2025, and will then resume her clinical work in the fall.
