Jessica Bearden, MA, LPC

Jessica received her MA in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2018 and her BS in Psychology with a Minor in Theatre from Southwestern AG University in 2015.

Jessica strives to provide a judgment-free, hope-focused environment for people to process their past, present, and future. Her eclectic approach thrives on the therapeutic bond and can be described as person-centered (empowering the client to create their own change) and cognitive-behavioral (identifying and reframing the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors) with a framework drawn from internal family systems theory (giving voice to all of the client’s internal parts).

She currently works with ages 10+, especially teens and young adults. She has experience working with various issues including adjustment, anxiety, depression, low-self-esteem, substance abuse, and interpersonal conflict.  Common themes she explores with clients include self-accountability, honesty, reframing hardship, self-compassion, goal-setting, and faith-based coping (if desired).

In addition to working with True North, she is contracted to conduct clinical assessments for children in foster care. Her work history includes providing drug and DWI court-ordered substance abuse treatment and conducting clinical assessments for diagnosis at a local psychologist’s private practice.

When she’s not counseling, Jessica loves watching the Astros and college football, reading, writing, theatre, studying theology, working out, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and 3 children.
